Marc P. Katz is an attorney in Indianapolis, Indiana, who has more than 40-years’ experience in various in-house and outside corporate legal positions. His experience concentrates in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, employment law, litigation management, contracts and real estate matters, especially in the area of electronic security services and fraternal law. Prior to the establishment of his current law practice (Law Offices of Marc P. Katz, LLC), he was Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and Chief Administrative Officer of Best Access Systems. In this role he was responsible for all legal, human resources, information services, facilities and security matters within the company. Prior to joining Best Access, Katz was employed by SecurityLink from Ameritech, Inc. holding the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. In this position Katz was responsible for creating and managing a legal department of this $500 million subsidiary of Ameritech Corporation (now AT&T). For ten years Marc was Assistant Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary of National Guardian Security Services Corp. While at National Guardian Marc handled and/or managed more than 200 acquisitions and oversaw a significant litigation portfolio. Marc served as a Staff Attorney with Wells Fargo Alarm Services and was later promoted to its sister company, Pony Express Courier Corp., as its Vice President – Law and Assistant Secretary. Marc launched his legal career in the private practice of law in Arlington, Virginia. Marc received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the States of Indiana, Connecticut, Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, Virginia State Bar and the American Bar Association. Katz is a Past International President of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity and is a Past-President of The Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation. He previously served as General Counsel to both organizations. He is also a Past Chairman of the North-American Interfraternity Conference, a trade organization representing the interests of 58 National and International men’s college fraternities. Katz is a Past-President, and currently a director, of the Fraternity & Sorority Political Action Committee the largest political action committee focused on higher education issues. He is a past Chairman of Classical Music Indy, an advocate for classical music in Central Indiana. He is also the immediate Past President of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. In addition, Katz has spoken before security industry organizations, campus-based organizations and facilitated numerous leadership institutes.
